Itinerary of Henry Rope 1901

As well as the diary of his cycling adventures, Rope also deposited some of his maps and guidebooks at the archives. I discovered among these a Bartholomew's Cyclist's Touring Map of England and Wales published in 1901, the exact same year that he cycled across the country and wrote our diary. The map is well used, in fact it has fallen apart at many of the folds and it seems very likely that he took it with him on his travels. He seems to have meticulously annotated every road that he cycled along, not only on the numerous trips recorded in the 1901 diary but also all the many other trips he must have taken before and since. Most of the roads around Shrewsbury are highlighted, as well as those around Oxford, but also those as far south as Cornwall and as far north as Berwick on Tweed. He undoubtedly travelled beyond Berwick - I wonder if we have a similar map of his for Scotland?
